Hello everyone...
Lately we often see the competition among operators in our country to attract as many costumers as possible.
That is, the operators must do things that needed to be able to accommodate more users. Isn't it?

Well, here we go ahead discussing techniques to increase the capacity of GSM subscribers ... :)

Well, start from me...

As far as I know, there are some way make to increase GSM system capacity:
~ Increase the working frequency (eg 900Mhz GSM operator license can buy a 1800MHz GSM frequency)
~ Understate the frequency re-use (eg, the pattern of frequency re-use 4 / 12 so 3 / 9 and with the frequency hopping)
~ Make the cells smaller and smaller again (or do cell splitting)

Are them right? Anybody have other solutions or idea?
Please share with us here :)

Friends.. May I request for frequency hopping explanation, please..?
And then ... Does frequency hopping could increase the capacity?
Thanks for the explaination... :)

hemmm ...
frequency hoping?
I think I've heard about that ...

As far as I know, frequency hopping is a technique used to improve the quality of the signal by increasing the immunity against interference. Technique is to allocate a few frequencies, and signals are transmitted hopped around on the allocated frequency hopping in accordance with the sequence.

Nah... Here, in GSM, there are two types of hopping techniques:

1. Baseband Hopping
Hopping technique using several TRx, where one TRx represents a frequency. So the data transmitted on the frequency alternately (jump around) on each TRx.

2. Synthesizer hopping
Nah, this one seems more sophisticated. This technique can use a TRx which can represent some frequency. I'm still don't know about the details. Still haven't understand, please explain to me, friends.
So, on this hopping technique, the data transmission is done by hopping in accordance with each frequency hopping sequencenya.

As I know, hopping technique used to improve GSM's transmitted signal quality . And according to the frequency hopping technique, there are no relation between freq. hopping and increasing GSM capacity.

Perhaps that's the first addition about frequency hopping. Still has not been understood correctly. I have also heard about "MA List," "MAIO", "Hopping sequences." But what are them? Still confuse!
Please share more with us brother pram!^_^

More addition, to increase the capacity of GSM, can be done by adding the number of TRx on one cell. hehehehe ..... :) :o :D

But i think I've read about frequency hopping could increase capacity. Can't it?
You all friends here that know more than me. Please explain to us.

And then, what is MAIO, MA list? - hiks.. still need to learn much-
